Field Insights Issue 6: Wolf Trax DDP Nutrients Increase Oil Palm Production in Nicaragua

In 2015, a study was conducted in Nicaragua to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Mn, Mg and B DDP products in oil palm production. Granular micronutrients were also applied for  comparison purposes. Wolf Trax DDP products significantly increased the number and weight of fruit produced per plant as compared to the control, which can increase returns for the producer.

Field Insights Issue 5: Wolf Trax DDP Nutrients Increase Coffee Production in Nicaragua

In 2015, a study was conducted in Boaca Viejo, Nicaragua to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Magnesium DDP, Iron DDP and Boron DDP products in coffee production. Granular products were also applied for  comparison purposes. While all three DDP products performed equally or better than the granular products, Magnesium DDP increased yield by 19% and consistently increased the number of branches per tree as compared to the standard grower practice at any observation point.

Field Insights Issue 4: Wolf Trax DDP Nutrients Increase Banana Production in Nicaragua

In 2015, a study was conducted in Puerto Diaz, Nicaragua to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Magnesium DDP, Iron DDP and Zinc DDP products in banana production. Granular micronutrients were also applied for comparison purposes. Under the conditions of this study, all three DDP products resulted in increased banana market weight as compared to the granular form of the nutrient.

Field Insights Issue 2: Wolf Trax DDP Nutrients Improve Rice Yield in Nicaragua

A study was conducted in Chontales, Nicaragua in 2015 to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Innovative Nutrients on rice. This study showed that micronutrients gave significantly better yields over an NPK blend with no micros and that DDPs outperformed traditional granular micronutrients. Mg, Zn and Fe DDP s coated onto the NPK blend dramatically improved yields by 14%, 25% and 36%, respectively over a traditional NPK blend, thus optimizing rice yield and return on investment.

Correcting common misconceptions about micronutrient fertilizer rates

As farm sizes have gone up and as producer’s schedules have become tighter and tighter, they may be looking for ways to spread the workload by getting part of their fertility done in the fall for the 2012 crop.
