Field Insights Issue 31: Wolf Trax Zinc DDP in Corn – Fall vs Spring Applications

In 2016, a replicated field study was conducted in Ontario to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Zinc DDP when applied in the fall or as part of an early season fertilizer program in the spring. Wolf Trax Zinc DDP significantly increased crop vigour and yield, regardless of application timing.

Field Insights Issue 30: Wolf Trax Zinc DDP Increases Corn Yields in Ontario

In 2016, a replicated field study was conducted in Ontario to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Zinc DDP as part of a fall fertilizer program for corn production. Wolf Trax Zinc DDP significantly increased crop vigour and yield relative to the control and was comparable or significantly better than MicroEssentials® SZ™.

Corn Micronutrient Guide

Adequate levels of zinc and boron are necessary in corn production to ensure proper growth and development, as well as optimum yield. Maintaining sufficient zinc in the soil enables corn seedlings to forage for the water and nutrients they need. Boron is necessary for tassel and silk formation, sugar transport, pollination and seed production, enhanced water use efficiency and drought tolerance.

Field Insights Issue 23: Wolf Trax DDPs Improve Corn Yields in Minnesota

In 2015, a replicated field study was conducted in Minnesota to evaluate the performance of Nu-Trax P+ and Wolf Trax Zinc DDP and Boron DDP as part of an early season fertilizer program for corn production. Under the conditions of this study, all products significantly enhanced early season growth and nutrient status of the plant, which ultimately resulted in yield benefits.

Field Insights Issue 18: Nu-Trax P+ Increases Corn Yields in Indiana

In 2013, a side-by-side trial was conducted in Gibson County, Indiana, to evaluate the performance of Nu-Trax P+ as part of an early season fertilizer program for corn production. In this study, the addition of Nu-Trax P+ increased yields as compared to the control treatment and the highest yield was attained when Nu-Trax P+ was included in a regimen that also included an insecticide.

Field Insights 14: Wolf Trax DDP Nutrients and Nu-Trax P+ Increase Corn Yields in South Dakota

In 2015, a field study was conducted in South Dakota to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Zinc DDP, Boron DDP and Manganese DDP as well as Nu-Trax P+, as part of an early season nutrition program for corn production. Under the conditions of this study, Wolf Trax products increased corn yields by more than 18 bushels per acre.

Field Insights Issue 12: Nu-Trax P+ Improves Corn Yield in Maryland

In 2014, a field study was conducted in Maryland to evaluate the performance of Nu-Trax P+ as compared to other commonly used fertilizer practices. In this study, corn yields increased within treatments as a result of the addition of Nu-Trax P+, particularly in high phosphorus fertility treatments. This suggests that Nu-Trax P+ is an effective complement to standard fertilizer practices.

In 2013, a field study was conducted by the University of Illinois to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Boron DDP in high yielding corn production systems. Under the conditions of this study, foliar applications of Boron DDP at VT tended to increase corn yield by 6 bushels per acre.

In 2009, a field study was conducted by the University of Kentucky to evaluate the performance of Wolf Trax Zinc DDP in a challenging soil with very high phosphate levels. In this study, a yield benefit of over 10 bushels per acre was realized with an application of Zinc DDP.
